Its been a little over a week since I wrote my last post. Lots of life changing points have been cropping up lately and exhausting nights trying to figure them all out. All for my lack of trying I have been utterly exhausted and haven’t had much time to think about what I was going to write next or talk about. Some of my posts are ramblings that seem to be about nothing and then sometimes end with an intriguing points. While I may not post everything that I write on this website I have posted quite a few things that I hoped would make people think more.

The other day I stumbled upon a few old poetry pieces that I wrote in college. I read through them and noted the grades that were scratched on the top of each page. A few I was proud of and others I know could have been better had I spent more time on them. Then I started thinking that the same energy I put into my writing then showed through with an actual letter grade and I thought about the same effort that I put in at home after being exhausted and beaten by a hard day at work. Does my best show through at home or does my family get the left over effort?

Scoreboard

There are days that I wish my life could be scored on a giant board so that I could see how I’m doing. I track tasks at work by marking them off and that tends to lead to a sense of accomplishment at the end of the day seeing all those marks of completed tasks. Maybe I should start making the same list at home to see what happens. A piece of online software that I use at work to track tasks is called Trello and it works wonders in keeping on point for the multiple projects that I tend to get pulled into on a daily basis. So I started a board for my “Home Life” to make sure I did all those things that I have said I will get to or to make sure I am giving my all at home as I do at work. The screenshot below I have kept pretty simple, but you can see the point.

We all get sidetracked with a million different things during the day and forget where we left off, but what if you keep the score and make sure you were on point no matter where you were. A little planning goes a long way.
